AJS Members in the News

January 14, 2024

Please join us in extending congratulations to two of our members who recently made the news with their professional accomplishments! Our best wishes to Lisa Ginoza and Brandon Kimura as they embark on their new journeys.

Lisa M. Ginoza was sworn in on January 12, 2024 as Associate Justice of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court by Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald at ceremonies at Aliʻiōlani Hale. The Hawaiʻi State Judiciary website contains the press release of this momentus occasion. Lisa serves on the AJS Board of Directors and as chairperson of the PACE Commission, which promotes civic education and engagement to those of all ages across the state.

Brandon Kimura, who served as Deputy Administrative Director of the Courts since November 2017, is the new Director of the Policy & Planning Department, Hawai‘i State Judiciary. He assumed this position on January 3. Brandon’s six years as Deputy Administrative Director will help him tremendously in this new position as he continues to advance the critical work of the Policy & Planning Department, which includes the Budget, Legislative Coordinating Office, CIP, and Planning & Program Evaluation divisions, as well as the Internal Audit Office. Brandon serves on the AJS Judicial Education Committee.
