It is with deep sorrow that the American Judicature Society (AJS) announces the passing of retired Chief Judge Colleen Hirai, a foundational figure in the establishment of AJS in Hawai‘i. Judge Hirai served with distinction as Assistant Treasurer of the AJS Board of Directors, contributing meaningfully through her work on the Convention Steering Committee and the Communications and Membership Committees. Her thoughtful guidance, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication earned the admiration and respect of all who had the privilege to work alongside her.
